What is Your Favorite Concert Memory?

Inspired by our Artist of the week Toby Keith, we wanted to take a break from the debates and celebrate all the good times we’ve had at concerts. This week we’re looking to share our favorite concert stories!!

Whether it’s getting rowdy in the pit or seeing one of your favorite artist’s with friends we’d love to hear about the musical experiences that were most special to you!

I left a comment below with some of my favorite concert experiences below but I wanted to take a moment in this post to talk about my experiences seeing my favorite band, Linkin Park over the years.

My first ever concert was Projekt Revolution 2008 with co-headliners Linkin Park and Chris Cornell. The show absolutely blew my teenage mind and kickstarted my love of going to live shows. Over the years I’ve gone to countless shows and festivals and Linkin Park always blew my mind. Some standouts are when I’ve gotten to see them with Incubus, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and AFI. Unfortunately, I was supposed to see them with Blink 182 and The Wu-Tang Clan but the show was tragically canceled when lead singer Chester Bennington took his own life. His death was the most heart broken I’ve ever been for someone that I’ve never met. In the years following his death I was able to see Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda at Pier 17. Seeing Mike at a smaller venue playing some Linkin Park’s hits while the crowd belted every word of Chester’s lyrics was by far the most cathartic concert experience I’ve ever been to. Now here we are years later and I’ve gotten to see the new version of Linkin Park twice in the past two years. I know many people have varying opinions about this period of Linkin Park but let me tell you, their live shows are just as amazing as ever. The energy on the stage and in the crowd is unmatched. Getting to see them live again almost twenty years later makes me feel like a kid at my first concert all over again and I love that this club has allowed me to share this story!

I have two specific memeories. First, SPAC, Eric Clapton, pouring rain, me and mom dancing to an extended version of our wedding song, Wonderful Tonight. Second, 1980, me and 3 college buddies went to see The Rolling Stones in Buffalo. Leaving the show some random guy sticks a microphone in my friends Otis's face and asks him what he thought of the show. Otis didn't remenber what he said. The following day the 4 of us decided to drive over to Niagara Falls. In the car, on the way, having the local rock station on in the car (Yup, no Spotify back then) the DJ announces "Now, 60 seconds of The Rolling Stones". With that, he plays a tape of random people saying things as they were leaving the concert. And sure enough, at the very end, we here Otis's voice, on the radio, saying "The Rolling Stones Are The Greatest". We laughed so hard, we pulled over on side of highway and celebrated. Pretty damn cool!!

More random rather than favorite. When looking for the pictures of ZBB to send to Vin I also had pictures from the 2013 all star game at citi field when I was on the stage for Flo Rida In the parking lot!

Too many good memories to think of but here's a few:

Gavin Rossdale of Bush coming up top to the bleacher creatures and performing while walking directly past me in an aisle seat.

Duke listening to the Commanders football game on a headset while we were at Post Malone in Spac, celebrating touchdowns as the crowd is going wild for Better Now.

Aaron Lewis playing an acoustic set for over 2 hours at a local bar to maybe 200 people.

I have so many favorite concert moments. Seeing my wedding song live at a Kacey Musgraves show (pic above). My first ever concert high-fiving Chris Cornell and singing Black Hole Sun with him right next to me. Friend's getting engaged at Zac Brown Band. Having my mind blown by the talent of Rush. Some of my favorite memories of all time have been at these shows!
