The Jukebox Hero: What is the Ultimate Bar Song?
Your credits are loaded, and for the next three to six minutes, you are the architect of the bar’s soul. It’s a high-stakes game. Pick the right track, and you’re a legend, the person who turned a quiet Tuesday into a cinematic moment. Pick the wrong one, and you’ve killed the vibe as everyone waits for the "Skip" button to save them.
Here at Cascella Music Club, we take the "Bar DJ" responsibility seriously. This week, we’re putting the jukebox on trial, so here’s a few suggestions to get those creative juices flowing!
1. The “Crowd Pleaser": Not the most original of choices but your basic taste is pretty much guaranteeing the group of strangers at the end of the bar are gonna stop what they’re doing and scream the chorus in unison with you.
Don't Stop Believin’ (Journey), Sweet Caroline (Neil Diamond), or Mr. Brightside (The Killers).
2. The "Classic Rocker”: There’s just something about these songs that fits a dive bar like a glove. No frills, just good ole’ rock n roll.
Gimme Shelter (The Rolling Stones), Thunderstruck (AC/DC), or The Boys Are Back In Town (Thin Lizzy).
3. The "Deep Cut": Either you don’t care about what anyone in the bar thinks of you, or you care far too much. Either way this pick is trying to “flex” your music taste on everyone else in the room. Is it a good or a bad thing that people are asking the bartender, “Who played this?”
A Girl Like You (The Smithereens, shoutout to Dad Cascella!), Reeling In The Years (Steely Dan), or Lust For Life (Iggy Pop).
4. The "Heartbreaker": High risk, high reward. It’s that time of the night, the lights haven’t come up yet but the crowd is starting to thin out. Is it time to shift the night from “party” to “reflection”? Nail this selection and you'll have patrons proclaiming they “love this bar” while they think about that one person they probably shouldn’t text.
Piano Man (Billy Joel), Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd), or Purple Rain (Prince).

I've got more than a few options for this one! Let's kick it off with a few of my favorites.
"I Love This Bar"- Toby Keith, "Everytime We Touch"- Cascada, "Zombie"- The Cranberries, "The Chain"- Fleetwood Mac
And lets not forget the GOAT: "Country Roads, Take Me Home"- John Denver
