Who are the most "Underrated" Artists?

For our debate of the week the Cascella Music Club wants to discuss which bands you think are the most underrated. Inspired by a few of our previous selections, and most notably the current Artist of the Week, Silversun Pickups, we want everyone to voice their opinion on what bands and artists just don’t get the respect they deserve.

We’re talking about the acts that have helped define a sound, influenced some of your favorite bands, and still for some reason just don’t get the flowers they deserve. These are the bands that should be considered in the “Best of their Genre” conversation but stay just under that mainstream radar.

I'm going to go with Deftones. Only recently with the release of their 10th studio album "Private Music" have I seen people talking about how great they actually are. I'd say they are one of the best if not the best band to come out of that late 90s, early 2000s alternative metal scene. Even when I look up "similar" popular bands, they are so much better than Korn, Limp Bizkit, System, Slipknot...maybe not as good as Linkin Park and Tool but that's some pretty solid company. And fitting with Silversun Pickups, although very different sonically they could both be considered Shoegaze bands. Maybe I just really love dreamy, atmospheric music with huge distorted choruses.
